Junk Gypsy

I LOVE JUNK. I always thought my dad was crazy for dragging all sorts of things home. Mostly antique things. I never understood it till I got older. Now I look for furniture in old barns instead of furniture stores. Today I went to a sale in town. They collect items all throughout the year. Who knows where they find everything, but they're really good at finding TREASURE. I brought this home and stuck 'er up on the wall. I LOVE this! My husband just shook his head. I think it's perfect.

Blood Curdling

Oh I had so much fun making this card. I know it's a bit gruesome... but I still love it. I haven't had a whole lot of time to create lately. I think I say that in every post. With two kids on different schedules, commuting over 100 miles (back and forth many times) to and from school everyday, and a hubby that is in the middle of seeding, this girl is running in too many directions. I keep telling myself that things will slow down soon, but I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel coming anytime soon.

Back on track... I just LOVE this stamp set. I'm addicted to skulls. Funny that I didn't use that stamp for this card though. I think this was my third attempt at the design. The first two didn't have any blood spatter, and I think that totally makes it. I think the icing on the cake is the Crystal Effects that was applied to each droplet. Yes, it was a bit time consuming but it added another dimension to the card. If you haven't noticed, I like LOTS and LOTS of layers and embellishments.

I can't wait to send these out for Halloween!

Pure Genius...

And a big fat DUH. I can't believe I haven't thought of this. I use a lot of cotton linen to make solid colored ribbon with the Brayer tool. I absolutely cannot wait to try this!

Open Season

Tis that time of year again. Hunters are gathering their gear and heading out to claim that prized rack! I think this is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the crisp weather (though we still have sweltering temps), I love the colors, I love the pumpkin spiced lattes, I guess I just love it all.

I set out to create a card for my brother, who is headed out to go archery hunting this weekend.  So I'm a little late. SHOCKER! I was hoping to send this to him to wish him "Good Luck" but I may have to send it as a "Congratulations" instead. Hopefully I didn't just jinx him.

I really can't take any credit for the design of this card. I pretty much stole the entire idea from my sweet friend Bree at Craft-somnia Momma.

Ink ~ Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso

Time Well Spent

Wow, this is the 100th post for this Crazy Paper Freak! I spent a few hours creating this card for my hubby. It will be our 9 year wedding anniversary next Wednesday. Nine years? Where did that time go? Boy, a lot has happened in the past 9 years. I don't even think I could begin to list everything. Long story short, we are happily married with 2 beautiful children. What more could I ask for?

I got the inspiration for this card from the Paper Craft Crew Challenges. The sketch is for challenge #58. I've really been enjoying their sketches! I can't take credit for the camouflage background. I stole the idea from a fellow Stampin' buddy.

With Gratitude

Wow. This card took F O R E V E R  to complete. It doesn't look like much. I'm trying to think what took SO long. I think it was the leaves. I probably stamped a dozen before I got the colors I wanted. The turkey took a while too. It was done with markers. Oh, and the feather. That took a while as well. I guess it all adds up. I won't even admit to how long it took from start to finish. This card has been entered in the SUO Challenges blog for challenge #82 Harvest Time!

Here's the Sketch!

I got this wonderful color combination from Fab Friday's Blog. They also have wonderful challenges. This was from challenge #26.

Here's the color combo!

Happy Dance

The kids are back to school! I'm totally doing my happy dance. I kinda feel bad every morning as I peel out of the school parking lot. Kinda. I love my children dearly, but this mama needs a break! I'm definitely looking forward to getting back onto our normal schedule. Especially looking forward to that quiet time. Yeah, I mostly spend it cleaning something. At least my house can stay somewhat clean for more than 20 minutes. Today, I got to spend a little time out in my woman cave. I'm extremely behind on my projects. I think it's been over a week since I last stepped foot in there. So I locked myself in and went to work.

Since the kids are back to school, I needed to create a card for Kylie's (2nd Grade) teacher. I don't have ANY school-related stamps. None. Zip. Zilch. I totally had to comb through my stamp sets to come up with SOMETHING that would do. The sketch is from the Paper Craft Crew for challenge #57. The color combo came from The Paper Players challenge #161. I really liked how it turned out. Another fabulous color combo that I would have never come up with on my own.
